Marvel Rivals is preparing for its next major update, with Season 4.5 set to launch on October 10, 2025. The highlight of the mid-season update will be the arrival of Daredevil, who joins the roster as a new duelist character, alongside the introduction of the game’s first steps toward cross-platform progression.
Cross-progression has been one of the most requested features since the game’s debut, and Season 4.5 will finally begin rolling it out. However, there is a catch: the feature will initially only be available to invited players as part of a limited test, with full rollout expected in Season 5. Once fully implemented, the feature will allow players to use a main character across PlayStation, PC, and Xbox, though statistics and rankings will remain tied to each platform individually.
To showcase the new content, developer NetEase has released two new videos. The first is a gameplay trailer highlighting Daredevil’s combat style, abilities, and role as a duelist within the game’s roster. The second is a Dev Vision video featuring creative director Guangguang, who outlines key changes coming with the update, including home screen customization options and details on how cross-progression will function once fully live.
Guangguang also teased the arrival of a new game mode, with further details scheduled to be revealed on October 17, and confirmed that a Halloween event is in the works, featuring new themed cosmetics for various characters.
Season 4 has already brought significant changes to Marvel Rivals, such as the addition of a PlayStation 4 version and the initial framework for cross-platform play and progression. Still, looming speculation suggests that future updates may include the introduction of loot boxes, a move that could spark controversy among the game’s community if implemented.
For now, though, the focus is squarely on Daredevil’s arrival, cross-progression’s first test, and the upcoming seasonal events that will define Marvel Rivals’ mid-season refresh.
