Little Nightmares Showcase Unveils Release Date for Little Nightmares III, Enhanced Edition of Original Game, New VR Title, and More

Bandai Namco surprised fans today during the Little Nightmares Showcase, delivering far more than just new footage and a release date for the highly anticipated Little Nightmares III. The event unveiled five new projects in total, greatly expanding the haunting universe of the franchise and offering new ways for fans to immerse themselves in its dark and eerie world.

Little Nightmares III – October 10, 2025 Release Confirmed

The centerpiece of the showcase was, of course, Little Nightmares III, developed by Supermassive Games. The new entry in the series is now confirmed to launch on October 10, 2025, for PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC. The reveal came alongside a 10-minute gameplay demo set in a Carnevale-themed level, highlighting the unsettling aesthetic, cooperative mechanics, and terrifying new creatures that players will encounter.

Little Nightmares: Enhanced Edition – Remaster of the Original

In a surprise reveal, Bandai Namco also announced Little Nightmares: Enhanced Edition, a 4K 60 FPS remaster of the original game. Featuring ray-traced reflections, improved graphics, faster load times, and refined checkpointing and assistance systems, this edition will arrive on October 10, 2025, for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC.

However, the remaster is not available as a standalone purchase yet. Instead, players who pre-order any edition of Little Nightmares III can get immediate access to the enhanced edition starting today.

This decision has received mixed feedback, as some fans remember that the Enhanced Edition of Little Nightmares II was previously offered as a free upgrade. Whether Bandai Namco adjusts their approach following community feedback remains to be seen.

Little Nightmares VR: Altered Echoes

Also announced was Little Nightmares VR: Altered Echoes, an upcoming virtual reality experience designed to pull players even deeper into the franchise’s disturbing world. Details were scarce, but a short teaser was shown, promising a haunting atmosphere with an immersive twist.

More Projects: Podcasts, Comics, Novels — And Possibly a Film?

Bandai Namco’s expansion plans don’t end with games. The showcase also introduced several cross-media projects:

  • The Sounds of Little Nightmares – An official audio podcast exploring the soundscape of the series.

  • Little Nightmares: Descent to Nowhere – A comic series offering narrative depth to the world and its characters.

  • Little Nightmares: The Lonely Ones – A novel that delves into the lore and psychological horror of the franchise.

Additionally, there was a mysterious teaser inserted midway through the stream that hinted at a sixth unannounced project, possibly a stop-motion film or TV series adaptation. While Bandai Namco didn’t elaborate further, fans are hopeful for more news in the coming months.

With five confirmed new projects and one more hinted at, Bandai Namco has turned the Little Nightmares Showcase into a full-blown franchise revival moment, re-establishing Little Nightmares as one of the most creatively expanding horror properties in recent gaming.
