La Quimera Launches in Early Access After Surprise Delay; Reburn Shares Vision for 18-Month Development Plan
Following a last-minute delay and quiet pivot to Early Access, Reburn’s dark narrative action game is now live on PC with a roadmap for expansion.
Reburn’s La Quimera, a highly anticipated narrative-driven action title, has officially launched in Early Access on PC via Steam, after a surprising and silent delay from its originally scheduled release on April 25, 2025. The unexpected shift came with little notice—just as reviews went live, fans were met with a delay announcement posted exclusively on the game’s Discord server, followed by a Steam update the next day and a fuller explanation three days later.
Originally marketed as a full release, La Quimera’s launch into Early Access was not part of the initial plan. However, Reburn CEO Dmytro Lymar addressed the change in a press release today, expressing gratitude to fans and reiterating the studio’s long-term commitment:
“We truly appreciate the support our community has shown since we made the decision to pivot La Quimera into Early Access. Though this wasn't our original plan, as Ukrainian game developers, we're very familiar with perseverance in the face of tough choices and tougher odds,” said Lymar. “Our goal is to deliver a new experience that fans of our past work have come to expect now and through future updates.”
Development Roadmap: What Early Access Players Can Expect
Reburn has outlined a clear 18-month development roadmap, during which the Early Access version of La Quimera will expand substantially. The final release will aim to provide:
Narrative-Gameplay Synergy: Stronger integration between story and moment-to-moment gameplay in both solo and co-op modes.
Expanded NPC Involvement: Characters that affect story direction and gameplay progression more dynamically.
Improved Pacing and Balance: Tweaks to harmonize narrative beats with action sequences.
Combat-Optimized Level Design: Refinements to ensure tactical depth and challenge, regardless of playstyle or player count.
Story Completion: A full roster of story arcs and playable levels planned for the final release.
Price Strategy & Community Feedback
The game currently retails for $29.99 USD in Early Access. Reburn has confirmed plans to increase the price as content is added, aligning with industry practices that reward early supporters while funding development. Players are encouraged to provide feedback via the official Steam forums and Discord as part of Reburn’s live development strategy.
La Quimera tells a mysterious, allegorical tale wrapped in brutal melee combat, stealth, and environmental puzzle-solving. Early reviews praised its unique aesthetic and bold narrative ambitions, even while pointing out its need for polish and technical fine-tuning—something the Early Access phase now aims to directly address.
Reburn, a Ukrainian indie studio, is known for its resilience and creativity under pressure, with La Quimera serving not only as its most ambitious project to date but also a reflection of the team’s real-world perseverance.
