Kojima Productions to Host 10th Anniversary Event “Beyond The Strand” in Tokyo

Kojima Productions has officially announced a 10th anniversary celebration event titled Beyond The Strand, set to take place on September 23, 2025 at TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills in Tokyo. The studio revealed details of the event on its official website, confirming that the celebration will feature special guest appearances and, most notably, a look into the company’s future projects.

Event Details

  • Event Name: Beyond The Strand

  • Date & Location: September 23, 2025, TOHO Cinemas Roppongi Hills, Tokyo

  • Tickets: Available here starting September 2 at 10:00 AM JST through advance reservation only

  • Livestream: Details to be announced at a later date

The event will serve as a retrospective of the studio’s decade-long journey while also offering fans a preview of what lies ahead.

Projects in Development

Although Kojima Productions has kept much of its work under wraps, two major projects are currently confirmed:

  • OD (in collaboration with Microsoft):
Announced in 2022, OD is being developed as an experimental title leveraging Microsoft’s cloud technology. While its future appeared uncertain after multiple Microsoft project cancellations, it has since been reaffirmed. Kojima himself has described OD as something “very different from anything else on the market” and hinted that it may be a divisive experience.

  • Physint (in collaboration with Sony):
Described as a return to Hideo Kojima’s stealth-action roots, Physint is still in the conceptual phase. Kojima has previously stated that the project will blur the lines between film and video game, potentially redefining interactive storytelling. However, given its early stage, it remains far from release.

A Decade of Kojima Productions

Founded in December 2015 after Hideo Kojima’s departure from Konami, Kojima Productions has already left its mark on the industry with the release of Death Stranding (2019) and its expanded Director’s Cut edition. The studio has become known for its cinematic approach to game design, bold experimentation, and Kojima’s auteur-driven storytelling.

The 10th anniversary event is likely to showcase both the studio’s history and its ambitions for the future, potentially offering updates or at least teasers on OD and Physint while surprising fans with other announcements.

Do you think Kojima Productions will finally lift the curtain on OD gameplay, or will Beyond The Strand focus more on celebrating the studio’s legacy?
