Intel Teams Up with EA to Optimize Battlefield 6 on PC with XeSS 2, Core Ultra CPU Enhancements, and Launch-Day Performance Boosts

Intel and EA have officially announced their strategic partnership to optimize the highly anticipated Battlefield 6 for PC players, revealing full support for Intel XeSS 2 upscaling technology and specific optimizations for Intel Core and Core Ultra CPUs. The announcement, published via Intel’s official blog, confirms that Battlefield 6 will ship on October 10, 2025, as a flagship title showcasing Intel’s latest gaming advancements.

XeSS 2 Arrives Day-One on Battlefield 6

When Battlefield 6 launches, it will feature Intel XeSS 2 support out of the box, offering:

  • XeSS Super Resolution (SR) for upscaling high-quality visuals,

  • XeSS Frame Generation (FG) for smoother gameplay,

  • XeSS Low Latency (LL) for responsive action during intense firefights.

This integration is expected to benefit not only Intel’s own Arc GPUs (including the Arc A- and B-series and Arc 100V/100T series integrated in Core Ultra processors) but also GPUs from other vendors like NVIDIA and AMD, thanks to the recent 1.2 SDK update.

Battlefield 6 Optimization for Intel CPUs

Intel’s Core and Core Ultra CPUs will receive launch-ready enhancements, including:

  • Thread Scheduler Optimization: Ensures efficient core/thread utilization to minimize stutter and maximize performance.

  • APO (Application Optimization) Support: Smart workload management for optimal frame pacing and power delivery.

These optimizations aim to deliver a seamless and scalable experience across high-end rigs and modern entry-level systems alike. Intel and EA have worked hand-in-hand to maximize compatibility and polish, with Intel’s engineering team closely involved in performance tuning for the Frostbite engine powering Battlefield 6.

EA and Intel on the Partnership

Battlefield 6 is an incredible showcase for what gamers can do on an Intel-powered system, and we’re honored to be working with EA to help deliver an experience worthy of the Battlefield franchise,” said Nicolas Thibieroz, Senior Director of Game Engineering at Intel. “Bringing Intel features like XeSS 2 to Battlefield 6 at launch means players are going to get the best experience when they game on an Intel-powered system.”

Battlefield 6 represents an all-new level of ambition and dedication to the franchise and our players’ experience,” added Christian Buhl, Studio Technical Director at EA. “Intel has been an incredible partner in building the best possible experience for our PC players.”

Players eager to get an early taste of Intel-optimized warfare will soon be able to participate in the Battlefield 6 open beta, expected to launch later this summer. This beta will include XeSS 2 integration, allowing participants to preview the performance benefits firsthand across various hardware configurations.
