Intel Releases Arc Driver 8801 With Game On Support for Forza Horizon 6, Subnautica 2, and LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight
Intel has rolled out a new graphics driver for its Arc ecosystem, with Arc Graphics Driver 32.0.101.8801 now available for Intel Arc B Series GPUs, Arc A Series GPUs, and Intel Core Ultra processors with built in Arc graphics. The headline addition is official Game On driver support for Forza Horizon 6, arriving just ahead of the racing title’s release window, alongside support for Subnautica 2 and LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight.
That makes this a strategically timed release for Intel’s graphics stack. Forza Horizon 6 is one of the most visible PC launches in the current cycle, so driver level readiness matters if Intel wants Arc A Series and B Series boards to stay in the conversation during a major AAA debut. Intel’s release notes specifically list all 3 games under its new Game On support section, confirming that the driver is not just a routine maintenance update, but a launch aligned package meant to improve day one compatibility and optimization on Arc hardware.
Outside of game support, Intel is also using this release to expand the feature set inside Intel Graphics Software. Version 8801 adds a new Performance Metrics Overlay, which gives users more direct control over performance monitoring with options for automatic app detection, GPU and display selection, predefined and custom styling, and appearance adjustments. The overlay can be enabled from the Performance section in Intel Graphics Software or through the Alt + Shift + O hotkey. Intel has also added a built in Report an Issue or Bug function under the Support page, which should streamline the feedback loop for players running into problems across games and applications.
Intel is also continuing its cleanup work on game specific issues. In the release notes, the company says it has fixed intermittent corruption issues in Battlefield 6 on certain maps during gameplay, while also acknowledging that several known issues remain across Arc B Series, Arc A Series, and Core Ultra platforms with Arc graphics. That is not unusual for a modern GPU driver branch, but it does show Intel is still in the active tuning phase of its Arc software story as it pushes for stronger stability and feature maturity.
From a broader market perspective, this is the kind of release Intel needs to keep delivering consistently. Arc has made meaningful progress on the software side, and timely support for headline games remains one of the clearest ways to build confidence among current users and potential buyers. Driver 8801 may not be a landmark release on its own, but support for Forza Horizon 6, Subnautica 2, and LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight gives Intel a solid content driven reason to get this update in front of Arc users now.
Are you planning to update to Intel Arc Driver 8801 for Forza Horizon 6, or are you more interested in the new Performance Metrics Overlay features?
