Intel Launches 200S Boost: Official Overclocking Profile for Core Ultra 200S Series with Warranty Protection

Intel has officially announced Intel® 200S Boost, a new factory-validated overclocking profile designed for Intel Core™ Ultra 200S series processors (K-SKUs). Targeting gamers, PC enthusiasts, and performance users, this initiative enables advanced tuning of CPU and memory parameters—without voiding the processor’s limited warranty.

Built to enhance the performance of unlocked Core Ultra 200S CPUs when paired with Intel Z890 chipset motherboards and certified Intel XMP DDR5 memory, 200S Boost aims to deliver measurable gains in memory bandwidth, die-to-die interconnect speeds, and fabric frequencies—especially beneficial for low-latency gaming workloads.

Performance Enhancements with Intel 200S Boost

200S Boost is an Intel-provided overclocking preset built to optimize the performance of unlocked Core Ultra 200S CPUs, including models like the Core Ultra 9 285K and Ultra 7 265K/F. It targets three key performance areas:

  • Fabric Clock (SoC Tile/NGU):

    • Default: 2.6 GHz → 200S Boost: Up to 3.2 GHz

  • Die-to-Die Interconnect (D2D):

    • Default: 2.1 GHz → 200S Boost: Up to 3.2 GHz

  • Memory Speed:

    • Default: 6400 MT/s (3200 MHz) → 200S Boost: Up to 8000 MT/s (4000 MHz)

    • Requires 1 DIMM per channel (1DPC) with Intel XMP-certified DDR5 memory

Compatibility Requirements

Supported CPUs:

  • Intel® Core™ Ultra 9 285K

  • Intel® Core™ Ultra 7 265K / 265KF

  • Intel® Core™ Ultra 5 245K / 245KF

Supported Motherboards (Z890-based with updated BIOS):

  • ASRock: Z890 Taichi OCF / Taichi

  • ASUS: ROG MAXIMUS Z890 HERO

  • Gigabyte: Z890 AORUS MASTER / Z890I AORUS ULTRA / Z890 EAGLE

  • MSI: MEG Z890 ACE / Terminator Z890-A WIFI

  • Colorful: iGame Z890 FLOW V20

  • MAXSUN: iCraft Z890 VERTEX / BATTLE-AX Z890M-PLUS V20

Supported Memory Modules:
The 200S Boost profile requires Intel XMP memory in 1DPC configurations. Verified kits include:

  • G.SKILL Trident Z5 RGB DDR5-8000 CL38

  • Corsair VENGEANCE RGB DDR5-8000/7200 CL38/CL36

  • V-COLOR Manta XFinity RGB DDR5-8000 CL38

  • TeamGroup T-FORCE XTREEM DDR5-8000 CL38

  • ADATA LANCER RGB DDR5-8000 CL38

Note: Not all motherboards and memory modules are guaranteed to support these frequencies. BIOS optimizations and system cooling remain key variables.

How to Enable Intel 200S Boost

  1. Update BIOS to the latest version

  2. Access BIOS Overclocking Section and select ‘Intel 200S Boost’

  3. Restart your PC

  4. Run Stability Tests (e.g., Cinebench, Prime95)

  5. Monitor with Intel XTU or similar tools

Warranty Clarity and Limitations

Intel confirms that using 200S Boost does NOT void your processor’s warranty, provided you use eligible boxed CPUs. However:

  • Results will vary by system

  • Other hardware (motherboard, memory) is not covered

  • Warranty applies only to Intel’s boxed CPUs and not to system builder or OEM warranties

  • 2DPC memory configurations are not supported under this profile

Intel’s 200S Boost is a milestone move that empowers enthusiasts to overclock safely and responsibly. With compatibility across premium Z890 boards and high-speed DDR5 XMP memory, it bridges the gap between entry-level overclockers and performance purists—backed by the peace of mind of Intel’s warranty.
