Indiana Jones and the Great Circle Getting DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation and RTX Hair in February Update

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, which already supports NVIDIA DLSS Super Resolution, Frame Generation, Reflex, and path tracing, is set to receive further enhancements for GeForce RTX 50 Series GPUs in an update slated for February. According to an official post from developer MachineGames, “Update 3” will include bug fixes and new “graphical features and options” optimized for NVIDIA’s latest Blackwell architecture.

What’s Coming in the February Update?

While MachineGames didn’t spell out each feature by name, NVIDIA DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation and RTX Hair are the most likely additions, as NVIDIA explicitly listed Indiana Jones and the Great Circle among the titles leveraging the new RTX 50 Series advantages. These two technologies promise to give players:

DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation

  • Takes NVIDIA’s AI upscaling to the next level by generating additional frames for smoother on-screen action.

  • Aims to further enhance performance in an already well-optimized game.

RTX Hair

  • Introduces Linear-Swept Spheres (LSS) to render hair using spheres rather than traditional triangles.

  • Delivers more accurate strand shapes and reduces the geometry load, thus improving both performance and memory efficiency.

  • Part of NVIDIA’s broader “RTX Character Rendering SDK,” with RTX Skin comprising the other half of the suite (though no specific game has been confirmed to feature RTX Skin yet).

Details on RTX Character Rendering

NVIDIA’s new character-focused SDK aims to push realism via advanced geometry and ray tracing. RTX Hair is the first half of this package set for public release, and it’ll debut in Indiana Jones and the Great Circle next month. RTX Skin—which could enhance the realism of character faces, bodies, and other surfaces—will be included in RTX Remix at a later date.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle isn’t just getting new technical flourishes; the developer has also confirmed at least one expansion for the game:

  • The Order of Giants: An upcoming story DLC, though no date has been revealed beyond its announcement.

  • PlayStation 5 Launch: Arriving this Spring, which could potentially incorporate these new RTX features if Sony’s platform is ever utilized for ray-tracing tech expansions (though that remains speculative, as PS5 doesn’t support NVIDIA-branded features).

In the meantime, Indiana Jones and the Great Circle continues to get performance improvements and bug fixes based on community feedback—specifically issues around 100% completion and navigation quirks in the game’s Sukhothai region, as noted by MachineGames.

What are you most excited about with this upcoming update? Are you looking forward to testing DLSS 4 Multi Frame Generation or checking out the new RTX Hair? Let us know in the comments!
