Hell Let Loose Developers Showcase New PvPvE Extraction Shooter Hunger in First Gameplay Trailer

Good Fun Corporation, the studio formerly known as Black Matter and best known for Hell Let Loose, has officially unveiled the first gameplay trailer for their upcoming project, Hunger available on Steam. Departing from the gritty realism of World War II, Hunger transports players to a haunting reimagining of Napoleonic Europe, one gripped by the devastation of a mysterious and deadly Bacterium plague.

In Hunger, players can expect a PvPvE extraction shooter experience layered with RPG progression systems. Good Fun Corporation describes the combat style as a "mix of methodical and frenetic ranged and melee combat," where survival depends not just on battling the infected and other players, but also on strategic scavenging and gear management. Players will need to equip themselves with armor, bags, trinkets, medicines, weapons, and shields to survive increasingly hostile environments and encounters with both the Hunger and other desperate survivors.

The newly released gameplay trailer highlights Hunger's atmospheric world, showcasing an impressive mix of firearms and brutal melee weaponry, reminiscent of the visual authenticity seen in Hell Let Loose. The trailer also offers a glimpse at the game’s inventory management system and the central hub area where players will prepare for expeditions.

Hunger is currently slated for an Early Access release on PC later in 2025. At launch, the game will feature three detailed maps and over 30 different weapons, with Good Fun Corporation planning to introduce additional content in subsequent updates.

Given the studio's pedigree with tactical, immersive multiplayer experiences, expectations for Hunger are high among fans of both extraction shooters and atmospheric, historically inspired settings. It remains to be seen how the final release will balance the intense PvPvE dynamics with its ambitious progression and customization systems.
