Hades II Reaches Xbox and PlayStation on April 14 as Supergiant Expands Its Award Winning Sequel Beyond Switch and PC

After first launching in version 1.0 on PC, Nintendo Switch, and Nintendo Switch 2, Hades II is finally making the jump to the remaining major platforms. Supergiant Games has confirmed that the acclaimed roguelike sequel will arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S on April 14, 2026, while Xbox has also confirmed day one availability through Xbox Game Pass. The Xbox version will additionally support Xbox Play Anywhere and launch across Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and Xbox Cloud.

That is a major platform expansion for one of 2025’s most celebrated games. Hades II was widely praised following its full release, and its move to Xbox and PlayStation gives a much broader audience access to Supergiant’s first ever sequel, a game that successfully built on the original’s combat, progression, and mythology driven storytelling without losing the speed and replayability that made Hades such a breakout hit.

The announcement arrived during the latest Xbox Partner Preview, where a new trailer confirmed the console date and showcased the game’s stylish action once again. Xbox Wire also published a feature alongside the reveal, confirming not just the April 14 launch date, but also the Game Pass rollout and Xbox platform support.

Supergiant has also said the April 14 release will arrive with bonus content and quality of life improvements, which means this is not simply a straight platform port. Existing players on other platforms are also expected to receive the same update, giving the console launch a bit more momentum than a standard delayed release. That should help keep Hades II in the spotlight even for players who already completed runs on Switch or PC.

For Xbox in particular, the Game Pass angle is a strong addition. Hades II is the kind of premium indie release that can gain major traction from subscription visibility, especially with its fast combat loop, repeat run structure, and strong word of mouth. For PlayStation players, meanwhile, this finally closes the platform gap and brings one of the best reviewed action indies of the last year to Sony’s current generation audience.

The timing also feels smart. By launching in April instead of disappearing into a more crowded late year window, Hades II gets room to breathe on consoles while still benefiting from the strong reputation it built during its earlier release cycle. For players who waited out the initial platform exclusivity on Nintendo and PC, the wait is now almost over.

Will you be jumping into Hades II on Xbox, PlayStation 5, or were you already all in from the original release?
