Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity Reveals Next Elite Specs Trio “Paragon, Antiquary, and Ritualist” Step Into the Spotlight

ArenaNet continues to ramp up excitement for its upcoming expansion Guild Wars 2: Visions of Eternity, revealing a new trio of elite specializations: the Paragon for Warrior, Antiquary for Thief, and Ritualist for Necromancer. These three join last week’s unveiled classes Troubadour, Galeshot, and Luminary, marking the second wave of nine total elite specs planned for the expansion, which launches on October 28, 2025.

The Ritualist, a spiritual successor to the beloved profession from the original Guild Wars, breathes new life into the Necromancer. It channels ancient weapon spells to aid nearby allies and summons the spirits of Anguish, Wanderlust, and Preservation to assault enemies. This specialization shifts the typically selfish Necromancer into a hybrid support role, combining offense with spectral aid.

For Thieves, the Antiquary is a bold, risk-reward archetype. Antiquaries are expert relic hunters who steal magical artifacts mid-combat using their Pilfer ability, enhanced by mischievous Skritt companions. These artifacts materialize as randomized improvised weapons, and while players can use abilities even during cooldowns, doing so has the chance to inflict unpredictable negative effects, making decision-making crucial.

Warriors are transformed by the Paragon, a frontline commander armed with a spear and shield. Drawing inspiration from Guild Wars: Nightfall, Paragons use burst skills to build a motivation meter, which fuels powerful shouts “chants, refrains, commands, and echoes” that empower allies or punish nearby enemies. This elite spec blends tactical aggression with party-wide utility, embodying the battlefield leader role.

ArenaNet is expected to unveil the final trio of elite specializations next week for the remaining classes; Revenant, Engineer, and Elementalist completing the lineup for Visions of Eternity.

The expansion will also include a brand-new storyline focused on the Inquest’s dark plans for Castora Island, alongside major content updates such as:

  • New zones

  • New raid encounters

  • A new Fractal and Convergence

  • A new Homestead map

  • Three Mastery tracks for the Skimmer mount

  • New legendaries, relics, weapons, and armor sets

Visions of Eternity is shaping up to be one of the most expansive updates yet for Guild Wars 2, offering veterans and newcomers alike a wide array of new gameplay systems and lore to explore.
