Gigabyte Unveils AI-Powered X3D Turbo Mode 2 for AMD Ryzen CPUs, Launches Three New X870E ICE Motherboards at Computex 2025

At Computex 2025, Gigabyte has officially launched its second-generation X3D Turbo Mode 2 technology, an AI-driven BIOS tuning feature designed to elevate AMD Ryzen CPU performance on the AM5 platform. Alongside this innovation, the company also introduced three new X870E ICE motherboards under the AORUS brand, featuring premium aesthetics and robust hardware for overclockers and gamers alike.

AI BIOS Tuning: X3D Turbo Mode 2 Promises Up to 35% Performance Boost

Built directly into the motherboard BIOS, X3D Turbo Mode 2 leverages intelligent analysis and automated adjustments to unlock higher performance without the need for manual overclocking. Gigabyte's AI-based system optimizes processor frequency, power delivery, and thermal behavior dynamically depending on workload.

Key features of X3D Turbo Mode 2 include:

  • Analyzing workload types in real-time

  • Adjusting CPU frequency based on usage demands

  • Sensing thermal load for safe operation

  • Managing power delivery to maintain performance without spikes

During its demonstration, Gigabyte showed side-by-side comparisons with AMD’s stock Core Performance Boost (CPB) feature. In gaming workloads like Cyberpunk 2077, X3D Turbo Mode 2 delivered up to 15% performance improvements, while creative applications saw a 10% boost, and multithreaded workloads were enhanced by up to 35%.

This AI-tuned approach is engineered to appeal to both casual users and enthusiasts looking to maximize their CPU's capabilities without diving into complex BIOS menus or manual tweaking.

Thermal Innovation: M.2 EZ-Flex and Integrated Wi-Fi BIOS Drivers

Gigabyte is also debuting M.2 EZ-Flex, a new SSD installation system that ensures consistent contact between the M.2 drive and the heatsink, applying flexible pressure on both ends to optimize thermal transfer. This results in up to a 12°C reduction in SSD temperatures under load compared to standard designs — a significant upgrade for users running high-performance NVMe drives.

Additionally, the new X870E ICE series motherboards will feature Wi-Fi drivers stored within BIOS, thanks to a doubled driver flash memory (64MB). This makes it easier for users building or reinstalling systems by allowing internet access out of the box without additional drivers or USB installs.

The New Lineup: Three X870E X3D ICE Motherboards

Gigabyte’s new flagship AM5 motherboards are:

  • X870 AORUS Master X3D ICE

  • X870 AORUS PRO X3D ICE

  • X870 AORUS ELITE X3D ICE

All three models adopt a striking white ICE aesthetic and are fully equipped for overclocking, cooling, and advanced I/O connectivity. These motherboards also natively support X3D Turbo Mode 2, giving users instant access to AI-based performance tuning right from the BIOS.

These X870E boards will complement the growing Ryzen 9000 and 8000-series CPU ecosystem, including the latest 3D V-Cache variants for gaming and productivity. Additionally, Gigabyte confirmed that five more B850 and X870 standard motherboards will join the lineup, with announcements on pricing and availability to follow in the coming months.

A Forward-Looking AM5 Ecosystem

By integrating AI performance tuning directly into BIOS and continuing to innovate thermal and connectivity designs, Gigabyte’s Computex 2025 showcase reaffirms its commitment to advanced PC platforms. The X3D Turbo Mode 2 feature will allow more users — from gamers to workstation users — to get the most out of their AMD Ryzen processors with minimal manual input.

Gigabyte also confirmed that more details on broader AM5 board support and chipset configurations will be shared in the lead-up to retail availability, with launch windows expected to align with AMD’s next major Ryzen releases later this year.
