Gears Of War E Day PC Specs Are Lighter Than Expected
The Coalition has revealed the PC requirements for Gears of War E Day, and the minimum specs are much less demanding than many players expected from a modern Unreal Engine 5 showcase.
Gears of War E Day is one of Xbox’s biggest releases of 2026, but PC players can breathe a little easier. The Coalition has shared the game’s minimum and recommended PC requirements, and they are not as aggressive as many feared. The minimum requirement starts at 12GB RAM plus an RTX 2060 and for recommended tier 16GB RAM and an RTX 3060 Ti.
| Specs | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
| OS | Windows 10 64 bit 22H2 | Windows 11 64 bit 25H2 or newer |
| Processor | AMD Ryzen 5 2600X, Intel i7 6850K, or Intel i5 10400 | AMD Ryzen 5 5600 or Intel i5 11600K |
| Memory | 12GB RAM | 16GB RAM |
| Graphics | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5050, RTX 2060, AMD Radeon RX 6600, RX 9060, or Intel A580 | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5060, RTX 3060 Ti, AMD Radeon RX 6700 XT, RX 9060 XT, or Intel B580 |
| DirectX | Version 12 | Version 12 |
| Network | Broadband internet connection | Broadband internet connection |
| Storage | 130GB available space, SSD required | 130GB available space, SSD required |
| Sound | Windows compatible audio device | Windows compatible audio device |
The main caveat is that The Coalition has not yet confirmed the target resolution, frame rate, or visual preset for these requirements. That means players should wait for more detailed performance guidance before assuming how the game will run at 1440p, 4K, Ultra settings, or with ray tracing enabled.
The PC version is still getting a serious feature set. The Coalition lists borderless, exclusive, and windowed display modes, uncapped frame rates on capable hardware, ultrawide support for 21:9 and 32:9 displays, keyboard and mouse remapping, controller remapping, 4K Ultra HD, HDR10, and hardware ray traced lighting, reflections, and shadows.
The game is also being optimized for handheld play, including Steam Deck, Xbox Ally, and Xbox Ally X. That is an important detail because Xbox is clearly treating E Day as more than a console release. It is part of the company’s wider push across Xbox hardware, PC, Game Pass, and handheld devices. This follows earlier coverage, where Gears of War E Day was confirmed for October 6, 2026 as an Xbox console exclusive on Xbox Series X|S and PC.
These specs are a good sign for The Coalition. Unreal Engine 5 games have created real concern among PC players, especially when modern releases arrive with heavy shader compilation, unstable frame pacing, and high VRAM demand.
Gears of War E Day still needs to prove itself at launch, but the early requirements suggest The Coalition is aiming for a wider PC audience instead of only targeting high end rigs. That matters for a franchise that Xbox needs to perform strongly across both console and PC.
The 130GB SSD requirement is large, but not surprising for a visually dense modern shooter with 4K assets and high quality cinematics. The more important question will be optimization. If The Coalition can deliver strong scaling across older GPUs, new GPUs, and handheld devices, E Day could become one of the better technical showcases of 2026.
For now, the specs are reassuring. PC players may not need a monster rig to experience Emergence Day.
Are these PC requirements enough to make you confident in Gears of War E Day’s optimization, or are you waiting for real performance benchmarks?
