Capcom and Resident Evil Requiem Dominate the Gamescom 2025 Awards

The Gamescom Awards 2025 have concluded, and it was a massive night for Capcom and Resident Evil Requiem, which emerged as the standout winner of the event. The annual awards, voted on by an independent jury (with select categories decided by the public), are designed to honor excellence in games, expansions, exhibitors, booths, merch, announcements, and trailers. The regulations state their purpose is “to honor outstanding games, extensions, exhibitors, booths, merch, as well as announcements and trailers.”

This year, Resident Evil Requiem swept four of the most prominent categories, taking home Best Visuals, Best Audio, Most Epic Game, and Best Sony PlayStation Game. These wins not only cemented Capcom’s dominance at Gamescom 2025 but also contributed to the publisher earning the award for Best Lineup.

The only other titles to take home multiple awards were Hela, which won Most Entertaining and Most Wholesome, and Ubisoft’s Anno 117: Pax Romana, which secured Best PC Game and Best Booth for its impressive hands-on and community lounge showcase.

A particularly noteworthy win outside of jury votes was Hollow Knight: Silksong, which was awarded Best Trailer, a category decided by the general public.
