GAMDIAS Launches THOR P2 Platinum PSUs With Up to 1350W and Native 600W GPU Power
GAMDIAS has expanded its premium power supply lineup with the new THOR P2 Series, introducing 1350W, 1050W, and 850W models designed for modern gaming PCs and high performance systems. All 3 models carry 80 PLUS Platinum certification while supporting the latest ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 specifications. The series also features a fully modular cable design, premium Japanese capacitors, native 12V 2x6 connectivity, and a 12 year warranty, positioning the THOR P2 family as a long term power platform for demanding gaming and enthusiast builds.
The THOR P2 Series is designed to handle the rapid power fluctuations created by modern high performance graphics hardware. GAMDIAS states that the power supplies can manage up to 3 times GPU power excursion and up to 2 times total PSU power excursion, helping maintain stable output when system power demand rises suddenly during gaming, rendering, content creation, or intensive computing workloads. A native 12V 2x6 cable can deliver up to 600W directly to compatible graphics cards, while additional PCIe power connections provide broader hardware compatibility. GAMDIAS has also implemented a dual color design on the 12V 2x6 connector to help users verify that the cable is fully and correctly inserted during installation.
Internally, the THOR P2 Series uses industrial grade Japanese capacitors rated for operation at temperatures of up to 105°C. The power delivery architecture combines a full DC to DC design, semi bridge LLC resonant circuitry, and 12V synchronous rectification to provide stable voltage regulation during sustained workloads. Its 80 PLUS Platinum certification also targets reduced energy loss and lower heat generation, helping improve overall power efficiency across both gaming and productivity workloads.
Cooling is handled by a 135 mm Fluid Dynamic Bearing fan with automatic speed adjustment based on system demand. GAMDIAS has integrated a Smart Silent Mode that can completely stop the fan when the power supply operates at approximately 15% to 20% load, reducing acoustic output during desktop operation and lighter workloads. As power consumption increases, the fan automatically resumes operation and adjusts its speed according to thermal requirements.
The fully modular cable architecture allows users to connect only the cables required by their system, helping improve cable management and airflow inside the chassis. This becomes particularly useful for modern gaming builds where larger graphics cards, cooling systems, storage devices, and additional components can make internal cable management increasingly important.
GAMDIAS has also equipped the THOR P2 Series with a comprehensive protection system including over voltage protection, under voltage protection, over power protection, short circuit protection, over current protection, and over temperature protection. Combined with ATX 3.1 compliance, PCIe 5.1 compatibility, Platinum efficiency, and a 12 year warranty, the company is positioning the THOR P2 lineup as a premium power solution for users building systems around current and future high performance hardware.
The lineup gives builders 3 capacity options depending on system requirements. The 850W version targets mainstream high performance gaming configurations, while the 1050W and 1350W models provide additional power headroom for flagship components, overclocking, demanding productivity workloads, and future hardware upgrades. GAMDIAS has not yet announced official pricing for the THOR P2 Series.
The THOR P2 Series focuses on the specifications that increasingly matter for modern enthusiast power delivery rather than relying only on higher wattage. Native 600W GPU power, ATX 3.1 transient handling, PCIe 5.1 support, Platinum efficiency, Japanese capacitors, modular cabling, and a 12 year warranty create a well rounded platform for builders planning systems that need both strong power delivery and long term upgrade flexibility.

Offering 850W, 1050W, and 1350W configurations also gives GAMDIAS room to address several levels of the performance market without forcing every enthusiast toward extreme capacity. For gaming systems where GPU power requirements and transient loads continue increasing, the THOR P2 lineup is clearly designed around providing additional electrical and thermal headroom for the next generation of hardware.
Would you choose the 850W, 1050W, or 1350W THOR P2 for your next gaming PC, and how much PSU headroom do you normally leave for future upgrades?
