Forza Motorsport Will No Longer Receive New Content as Turn10 and Playground Games Shift Focus to Forza Horizon 6

With Forza Horizon 6 officially revealed at Tokyo Game Show 2025, Turn10 Studios and Playground Games have now confirmed what many players expected but still hoped to avoid. Forza Motorsport will not receive any further new content updates as development resources fully transition toward the next Horizon entry.

The confirmation appears within a broader recap published on the official Forza website, which looks back at 2025 highlights across the franchise and outlines the road ahead. While the announcement was not positioned as a headline feature, the implications for Forza Motorsport players are clear.

According to the studios, the shift in priorities is directly tied to ensuring that Forza Horizon 6 delivers on its ambitious goals when it launches in 2026. As stated in the blog post, the teams do not plan to introduce any new cars, tracks, gameplay features, or regular bug fixes for Forza Motorsport moving forward. Active development on the title has effectively concluded.

That said, support for Forza Motorsport is not ending outright. Turn10 and Playground Games confirmed that online servers will remain operational, ensuring that multiplayer racing and competitive play continue uninterrupted. In addition, the game will still host special events and competitions, while previously released Featured Tours and reward cars will rotate back into availability on a monthly basis. This approach ensures that all content will eventually be accessible to players who may have missed earlier updates.

For many fans, this marks the end of Forza Motorsport as a living platform but not as a playable experience. The title has always catered to a more simulation focused audience compared to the open world and arcade leaning design of the Forza Horizon series. Knowing that online functionality and competitive events will persist offers reassurance that the Motorsport community will still have reasons to return, even without fresh content drops.

The transition also places increased pressure on Forza Horizon 6, which is set to take the franchise in a new direction with its Japan based setting and expanded platform reach across Xbox Series X and S, PlayStation 5, and PC. With both Turn10 and Playground Games now aligned behind Horizon 6, expectations are understandably high. Recent rumors suggest the game could arrive in the first half of 2026, though no official release window has been confirmed beyond that year.

As Forza Motorsport enters its maintenance phase, the spotlight now firmly shifts to what comes next. Whether Horizon 6 can satisfy both long time fans and newcomers will define the next chapter of the franchise.
