Former Fall Guys Developers Announce New Studio “Panic Stations,” Focusing on Co-Op Multiplayer Games
A new game development studio called Panic Stations has been formed by several former Mediatonic developers, the creative team behind the hit multiplayer phenomenon Fall Guys. The studio introduced itself with a lighthearted announcement video on X (formerly Twitter), featuring animated pigeons and an unmistakably playful tone that sets the stage for the team’s creative philosophy.
In the video, designer Joe Walsh lends his voice to one of the pigeons, saying, “Games should be funnier and they should be stupider. Here at Panic Stations, we’re going to fix that.” The message captures the spirit of humor and chaos that helped define Fall Guys’ success and signals that the new studio aims to channel that same energy into future projects.

According to the official Panic Stations website, the team is currently working on its debut title, which, as they jokingly clarify, “is not about pigeons.” In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, co-founder Paul Croft discussed the studio’s direction and their passion for building cooperative experiences.
“I’m a huge fan of the online co-op space and it’s been amazing to see it evolve over the last few years. It is really exciting to team up with some old friends — we’re aiming to build games that bring immediate joy to players and bring people closer together,” Croft said.
Panic Stations enters the gaming landscape at a time when cooperative multiplayer titles are thriving. Recent successes such as Peak, R.E.P.O., and Lethal Company have shown a strong appetite for games that combine teamwork with spontaneous, often hilarious player-driven moments. A well-balanced co-op experience that encourages creativity and laughter could easily capture the same lightning that Fall Guys did in 2020.
With the pedigree of developers who helped create one of the most surprising multiplayer hits of the last decade, expectations for Panic Stations’ first project are already high. Whatever their debut turns out to be, it’s safe to say the studio intends to deliver games that celebrate fun, friendship, and absurdity in equal measure.
Do you think the co-op genre is entering a new golden age, and what would you like to see from Panic Stations’ first game?
