Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Director Acknowledges Trophy Woes, Promises Easier Platinum in Future

Naoki Hamaguchi, the director of Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, has publicly apologized for the difficulty of the game’s Platinum Trophy, acknowledging the frustration it caused trophy hunters. In an interview with Daily Star, Hamaguchi admitted that the requirements—like multiple playthroughs and completing mini-games on hard difficulty—might have pushed players too far.

"I assure you this will not happen again. Future Platinum Trophies will be more accessible to ensure all players can enjoy mastering the game without undue difficulty," Hamaguchi stated.

This revelation should bring relief to fans eagerly anticipating the third and final installment of the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy, as they can expect a more manageable experience for completionists.

No DLC for Rebirth, But Big Plans for Part 3

Hamaguchi also confirmed that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will not receive any DLC, as the development team is laser-focused on delivering the trilogy's concluding chapter. He hinted at exciting innovations for the third entry, such as the incorporation of the Highwind airship, which promises to offer players a freely explorable world map, a feature reminiscent of the original game.

Where to Play Final Fantasy VII Rebirth

For now, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth is exclusively available on PlayStation 5, with enhanced performance on the PlayStation 5 Pro. A PC release is expected but has yet to be officially dated.
