Fallout 76 C.A.M.P. Revamp Update is Out now

Bethesda Game Studios has released a significant new update for Fallout 76, introducing a complete overhaul of the C.A.M.P. system alongside event improvements, item management features, and combat balancing changes. The update, titled C.A.M.P. Revamp, was presented in detail by Game Director Jon Rush in an official developer preview.

The C.A.M.P. Revamp delivers a redesigned experience for Fallout 76’s extensive building community, offering improved navigation and greater creative freedom.

Additions include:

  • Revised Workshop Menu: Thousands of building items have been reorganized into clear categories and subcategories. For instance, “Lighting” now separates into freestanding lights and wall-mounted lights, making it easier to locate specific objects.

  • Flexible Placement Options: The update removes restrictions on snapping and intersecting. Players can now freely toggle snapping, intersection, and free placement, allowing for advanced customization and more imaginative builds.

  • Community Competitions: Bethesda will launch monthly C.A.M.P. building competitions later this year, offering substantial prizes to highlight outstanding creativity from the community.

Jon Rush emphasized that these changes were made in direct response to player feedback, particularly from those in the “Sky Campers” community who specialize in ambitious construction.

The patch introduces additional quality-of-life and balance adjustments across other areas of Fallout 76:

  • Caravan Event Revision: Rewards are now distributed if the Brahmin survives, even if the route is not completed. Event length is capped at seven minutes to streamline participation.

  • Item Locking: Prevents accidental scrapping of valuable or sentimental equipment.

  • Combat Balancing:

    • Improved manual aiming responsiveness.

    • Refined V.A.T.S. targeting formula for consistency.

    • Substantial buffs to melee and ranged weapons, including enhanced damage-over-time effects.

    • Increased effective ranges for several weapon classes.

These adjustments are part of Bethesda’s continued collaboration with Double Eleven, which has supported Fallout 76 development over the past several years. A full overview of the combat rebalancing is available in the developer’s breakdown.

The update also introduces a new season, “Appalachian Modern Living,” which brings additional progression rewards, challenges, and themed content. Alongside the update, Bethesda highlighted broader Fallout franchise developments. The first trailer for the Fallout television series Season 2 was released, with the show scheduled to premiere on December 17.

The C.A.M.P. Revamp represents one of the most substantial updates for Fallout 76 to date, reaffirming Bethesda’s commitment to long-term support. By improving base-building functionality, enhancing events, and refining combat systems, the update aims to satisfy both dedicated builders and combat-focused players.

Will you be returning to Fallout 76 to experiment with the expanded C.A.M.P. tools, or are you more interested in the upcoming television series this December?
