Evil Dead: The Game Delisted from Digital Stores—Servers to Remain Online for Current Owners

Saber Interactive has officially begun delisting Evil Dead: The Game from all major digital storefronts, bringing an end to the title’s availability for new purchases while confirming that existing players will retain access—for now. The announcement was first published via the game's Steam news page, shortly before it was removed from Steam itself.

This follows earlier reports from players on Reddit who noticed the game’s disappearance from the Epic Games Store and PlayStation Store, which prompted speculation about its future. Saber has now confirmed that the removal process has extended to the Xbox Store as well, completing its removal from all major digital platforms.

“We can confirm we’ve begun the process of removing the game from digital storefronts,” Saber wrote. “Anyone who has purchased the game will still be able to play it as we plan to keep our servers online for everyone.”

While Saber Interactive expressed gratitude to the community—both longtime supporters and recent players—it’s clear that Evil Dead: The Game has officially entered its twilight phase. Development ceased in 2023, alongside the cancellation of a planned Nintendo Switch port. Though no specific reason for the delisting was shared, the game had already transitioned into maintenance mode, a common trajectory for live-service titles without an offline option.

Unfortunately, with no offline play mode currently available, the game’s long-term viability is now in question. Saber has not clarified when the servers will be shut down, but based on industry patterns, a full shutdown before the end of 2025 would not be surprising.

There is still some hope among fans that an offline mode might be introduced in the future to preserve the experience for those who already own the game, especially given the franchise’s loyal following. For now, those who purchased Evil Dead: The Game can continue to play as normal—while the opportunity still lasts.

Are you still playing Evil Dead: The Game? Would you come back if an offline mode was added? Let us know in the comments.
