EVE Vanguard: Operation Nemesis Now Linked to EVE Online, Achieving CCP’s Long-Time Dream
CCP Games has officially launched Operation Nemesis, marking a pivotal milestone for its upcoming MMOFPS EVE Vanguard. After years of attempts with Dust 514 and canceled projects like Project Nova, the studio has finally realized its vision of uniting its iconic MMORPG EVE Online with a shooter in the same persistent universe.
A Historic Integration Between EVE Online and Vanguard
With Operation Nemesis, CCP has created the first true link between boots-on-the-ground combat and interstellar warfare:
Warclones in Vanguard can uncover intel on planets.
Capsuleers in EVE Online can then act on that intel, raiding Upwell convoys in space.
This connection establishes a persistent economic and military ecosystem where actions in one game affect the other, setting the stage for a unified New Eden.
Snorri Árnason, Executive Producer at CCP Games, emphasized the significance of this milestone:
“Operation Nemesis marks a major milestone for EVE Vanguard. This is the first real taste of our much grander vision. We’re delivering a persistent, online sandbox shooter where your actions resonate across a living, player-driven universe.”
Scott Davis, Game Director, added:
“The feeling at CCP’s London studio is that we’re building the game of our dreams. EVE Vanguard represents our vision for a bold new FPS that combines the intensity of brutal combat with the depth and persistence usually reserved for MMOs. Operation Nemesis is the most significant step forward so far.”
