Elden Ring Nightreign DLC, The Forsaken Hollows, Arrives This December
Just as the Elden Ring Nightreign community began expressing frustration over the absence of post launch content, FromSoftware and Bandai Namco took the stage at the State of Play Japan event to announce a major new DLC expansion arriving before the end of the year. Titled The Forsaken Hollows, the expansion will launch on December 4, 2025 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S.
The announcement was accompanied by a new trailer showcasing early glimpses of the expansion’s eerie environments and thematic direction.
The Forsaken Hollows introduces two new playable Nightfarers, two new bosses, and what appears to be a substantial new explorable area within Limveld. FromSoftware has kept details minimal for now, but the PlayStation Blog provided a brief overview of what players can expect.
In the announcement on the PlayStation Blog, two new Nightfarers are introduced. The Scholar is described as boasting “impressive arcane levels” and gaining “incredible advantages through battlefield observation.” The Undertaker, meanwhile, is characterized by “impressive strength and faith,” suggesting a more physically imposing and spiritually empowered archetype. Specifics on their full ability sets remain undisclosed, but more information is expected as the release date approaches.
FromSoftware is also withholding details regarding the new bosses. As marketing representative Miku Watanabe stated, “Players will confront two new bosses tormenting Limveld,” but additional insight into their identities, movesets, or narrative roles remains unavailable for now.
The expansion also brings a new location known as The Great Hollow, described as a vast chasm that has opened within Limveld. According to the official description, the Great Hollow is “strewn with exotic ruins and temples; sacred towers denoting the remains of an ancient people; and crystals that exude a cursed, life draining miasma.” The area appears designed to evoke the haunting atmosphere and environmental storytelling that FromSoftware titles are known for.
The Forsaken Hollows will be priced at 15 USD upon release. Players who purchased the Deluxe Edition of Nightreign will receive the DLC at no additional cost when it launches on December 4.
With new characters, a new zone, and new challenges on the horizon, The Forsaken Hollows marks the long awaited continuation of content for Elden Ring Nightreign. Fans can now look forward to a fresh chapter of exploration and combat as FromSoftware prepares to expand the world of Limveld once again.
