Echoes of Elysium Delays Early Access Launch to January 2026 as Loric Games Fixes Critical Last Minute Bugs
Independent studio Loric Games has announced a last minute delay for the early access launch of Echoes of Elysium, its upcoming survival RPG centered on modular airships and mythic sky exploration. The game was planned to debut today, but the team confirmed that several persistent crash bugs prevented a stable release. Early access will now begin in January 2026. In a candid video statement shared with the community, Loric Games CEO Brian Johnson explained the decision and thanked supporters for their patience.
Johnson emphasized that the team has built something “genuinely awesome and unique” and refused to compromise the experience with launch day instability. He praised his developers and acknowledged that community feedback has been integral to shaping the game. Loric Games plans to expand the game significantly throughout early access and reiterated its long term commitment to refining and growing the world of Elysium.
Ahead of the original release date, press outlets including us were invited to a remote preview presentation that offered an extended look at Echoes of Elysium. The game distinguishes itself in the survival genre by embracing bright, colorful floating islands rather than the typical bleak tone. Its core revolves around player designed modular airships used for exploration, combat, and resource harvesting across a handcrafted yet procedurally generated open world inspired by mythic Greece.
A Skyborne Survival RPG Built Around Player Crafted Airships
Players pilot customizable airships built piece by piece including hull layouts engines sails weapons functional stations and defenses. Eventually it becomes possible to command a small fleet. Airships engage in real time combat against soul powered clockwork beasts, fortified sky towers, and hostile Heron Armada warships. Ships can be repaired upgraded augmented with craftable statue abilities and even destroyed. Friendly fire remains a constant risk.
The world of Elysium is a shattered celestial realm guided by the goddess Lethe. Players uncover its ancient past through a story driven sandbox campaign with biomes such as storm riddled cloud regions with 3D mesh clouds and cave systems. Loric Games plans to add numerous new biomes throughout early access.
Combat takes place both in the air and on land. Players can adopt archetypes including warriors pilots and engineers which influence combat style and utility. Character progression blends traditional RPG systems with survival mechanics such as crafting weapons armor tools and ship components while leveling abilities and unlocking new perks.
Traversal also includes a glider system that developers refined heavily based on community testing to ensure smooth dynamic flight between floating islands.
A Co Op Survival Experience Designed for Crews
Echoes of Elysium supports solo play or online co op for up to six players. Exploration resource gathering construction boss fights and ship operation are all intended to shine when players share roles across multiple airships. Loric Games has stated that while offline support is possible based on feedback the team believes cooperative multiplayer is the optimal way to enjoy the game.
