Diablo IV Season of Witchcraft Brings the Armory, Witchy Powers, and a Haunting New Storyline

Blizzard's developer live stream has unveiled exciting details about the Season of Witchcraft in Diablo IV, which begins January 21 at 10 AM Pacific Time. This update introduces highly anticipated features, including the Armory, a coven-focused storyline, new witchy powers, and legendary runes.

The Armory: Seamless Build Switching

The long-requested Armory will allow players to save and switch between up to five different loadouts per character. These loadouts include:

  • Equipment

  • Skills

  • Paragon Nodes

  • Glyphs

Switching builds is free, and missing items in a saved loadout are clearly marked. Available in both Seasonal and Eternal Realms, this feature is perfect for optimizing playstyles without the hassle of manual reconfiguration.

Additionally, Eternal Realm players benefit from the Welcome Back Booster, which permanently enables boosting characters to Level 50, complete with Legendary Items and pre-set class skills.

A Witchy New Storyline and Powers

The Season of Witchcraft focuses on the Coven of Witches of Hawezar and their ties to the Tree of Whispers. Mysteriously, several heads have gone missing, and players are tasked with uncovering their fates. Along the way, they’ll unlock three types of Witchcraft Powers:

  1. Eldritch – Destructive magical energies.

  2. Psyche – Defensive and mind-focused spells, causing madness in enemies.

  3. Growth & Decay – Living magic that heals and harms, including diseases and disruptions.

Players can discover Lost Powers by exploring Forgotten Altars in dungeons and utilize Occult Gems, crafted from materials earned through Whisper Bounties and Fugitive Head Headhunts. These gems provide affixes and Witchcraft tags, further enhancing skills.

New Legendary Runes

Owners of the Vessel of Hatred expansion can explore three new Legendary Runes:

  • Nagu: Gain Offering by maintaining Summons for 5 seconds (up to 6 Summons).

  • Igni: Accumulate Offering every 0.3 seconds and claim it (up to 500) by casting non-basic skills.

  • Chac: Invoke Druid Lightning Bolts for 220% weapon damage at the cost of 25 Offering.
