Death Stranding 2 On the Beach PC Requirements Look Friendly, Adds Portable Preset for Handheld Play
Nixxes Software has published the full PC system requirements for Death Stranding 2 On the Beach, and the overall spec targets look refreshingly achievable for a modern AAA release. Built on the Decima Engine like the original Death Stranding and the Horizon series, the PC version scales cleanly from a 1080p 30 FPS baseline to 4K 60 FPS at the top end, while also introducing a new Portable preset aimed at handheld devices like Steam Deck and ASUS ROG Ally.
A key takeaway is that 16GB RAM is consistent across all presets, and the game targets an SSD install with 150GB of storage. If you have been worried this would demand extreme hardware to feel smooth, the mid tier 1080p 60 FPS target looks particularly reasonable on paper.

On the performance toolkit side, Death Stranding 2 On the Beach will include the major PC upscaling and frame generation stack: NVIDIA DLSS 4, AMD FSR 4, and Intel XeSS 2. What has not been clarified is whether DLSS 4 includes Multi Frame Generation and support for the newer transformer model through the NVIDIA app.
Visually, this is a clean rendering feature set rather than a ray tracing showcase. There is no ray tracing noted, but there is strong display support: native ultrawide is included, with cutscenes designed for 21:9, and 32:9 supported during gameplay. Even if you are on a standard 16:9 panel, you can enable widescreen aspect ratios in settings to expand field of view without owning an ultrawide monitor.
Sony is also aligning console parity here. The 21:9 option will be added to PS5 via an update at the same time the PC version launches.
At PC launch, the previously announced Porter Suit Link and Patch Link will be rewarded to all PS5 Porters via an update. PC players can obtain these items as a bonus for connecting their PlayStation account.
As announced during the recent State of Play, Death Stranding 2 On the Beach launches on 2026 03 19 for PC via Steam and Epic Games Store.
Are you planning to play Death Stranding 2 On the Beach on a handheld using the new Portable preset, or are you going all in on ultrawide 21:9 for the full cinematic vibe?
