Dead Reset, a New FMV Horror from Wales Interactive, Launches September 11, 2025

Wales Interactive, in collaboration with Dark Rift Horror and Northern Film, has officially announced the release date for its next full-motion video (FMV) horror title. Dead Reset will launch on September 11, 2025, and will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Xbox One.

This psychological horror experience will be the 17th FMV or interactive cinematic project that Wales Interactive has released since 2016, reaffirming the studio's reputation as a pioneer of modern FMV storytelling. Known for its dark and experimental approach to game genres including survival FPS, roguelike deckbuilders, 2.5D survival games, and VR horror Wales Interactive continues its strong connection to the horror genre with this unsettling new story.

A Groundhog Day Horror Loop with a Surgical Twist

In Dead Reset, players take on the role of Cole, a surgeon trapped in a nightmarish time loop. Every time he wakes, he is asked to perform surgery on a mysterious patient who has an unknown object lodged inside their abdomen. Each failure, each death, resets the sequence, sending Cole back to the same ominous starting point.

The trailer suggests a grim and unsettling atmosphere, reminiscent of Silent Hill blended with Memento, emphasizing narrative tension and visceral dread. Players will likely face moral dilemmas and mental strain as they uncover the truth behind the patient and the horrifying cycle that binds Cole.

Wales Interactive has steadily refined its FMV and cinematic game formula across titles like The Complex, Late Shift, and Bloodshore, offering unique interactive storytelling paired with professional film production. Dead Reset seems poised to further blur the line between gaming and cinema, once again pushing the boundaries of the FMV genre.

Are you a fan of FMV games, or is this genre too niche for you? Will you brave the surgical horrors of Dead Reset this fall? Let us know in the comments!
