Cyberpunk Platformer REPLACED Launches March 12, 2026 on PC and Xbox

REPLACED, the widely anticipated 2.5D cyberpunk platformer with a striking pixel art identity, finally has a confirmed release date. The debut project from Sad Cat Studios arrives on PC through Steam, GOG, and the Epic Games Store, as well as on Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, on March 12, 2026. First revealed during E3 2021, REPLACED quickly became one of the most visually captivating and promising Xbox exclusives of its showcase era. Years later, the project has resurfaced with renewed momentum and a firm launch timeline.

This announcement follows Sad Cat Studios’ statement in August 2025 that they could confirm “with confidence” that the title would arrive by Spring 2026. That projection has held strong, and the development team has now presented a new trailer that reinforces REPLACED’s artistic vision, atmospheric presentation, and cinematic side scrolling action. Accompanied by an original soundtrack piece titled “Dusk,” the trailer delivers the most comprehensive look at REPLACED since its original unveiling.

The lengthy development cycle was not a matter of prolonged iteration alone. Sad Cat Studios, headquartered in Belarus with team members based in Ukraine, faced significant disruption due to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. As reported by Game Developer in 2022, the team paused production to support affected staff during the conflict. That coverage is available via GameDeveloper’s report. The geopolitical situation understandably pushed the project far past its originally expected 2021 to 2023 window.

Despite the delays, the studio maintains that the extended timeline was guided by a commitment to quality. In their August press release, game director Yura Zhdanovich expressed gratitude toward fans while acknowledging the unexpected wait. Zhdanovich stated that the team’s focus has always been to make the right decisions for the project and deliver an experience that feels truly special.

With a confirmed release date and its strongest showing yet, REPLACED is positioned to capture the attention of cyberpunk fans, platformer players, and enthusiasts of cinematic pixel art storytelling when it launches on March 12, 2026.
