Cronos: Lazarus DLC Arrives Fall 2026 With a New Story Chapter and Faster Combat

Bloober Team has officially confirmed Cronos: Lazarus, a new DLC expansion for Cronos: The New Dawn, following its earlier leak ahead of Summer Game Fest 2026. The reveal comes shortly after the studio surprised players with Star Trek: Shadow Frontier, its next full game, which was not the Cronos announcement many fans had been expecting.

Cronos: Lazarus will arrive in Fall 2026 and will be available across all platforms, including Nintendo Switch 2. The DLC adds a new story chapter for players who want to return to the dark world of Cronos: The New Dawn, but it also changes the rhythm of combat in a meaningful way.

This time, players will step into the boots of the Warden, one of the Collective’s elite agents. That change brings a more aggressive, faster paced combat style compared to the base game. While Cronos: The New Dawn emphasized precision, careful movement, and choosing when to engage, Cronos: Lazarus appears designed to push players into more direct and dangerous encounters.

"Cronos: Lazarus shifts the tone towards a more aggressive style of gameplay. Whereas in Cronos: The New Dawn you focused more on precision and picking your battles, this expansion lets you experience what it means to be one of the Collective’s elite agents."

The increased agility and stronger combat presence will not make the expansion easy. Bloober Team is also introducing a new pursuer built specifically to hunt the Warden. This enemy is described as relentless, adaptive, and capable of matching the Warden’s power, suggesting that Lazarus will lean into more cinematic and high pressure confrontations.

"This new pursuer is relentless, highly adaptive, and fully capable of matching the Warden’s strength. Your battles will escalate into large scale, cinematic encounters that will test every skill you possess."

That design shift could make Cronos: Lazarus feel noticeably different from the base game. Instead of only relying on tension, resource control, and deliberate combat decisions, the expansion appears to be building a more physical and reactive experience where players are expected to fight harder, move faster, and survive against enemies that can keep up.

For Bloober Team, Cronos: Lazarus is also an important continuation of a new IP at a time when the studio is expanding its portfolio. With Star Trek: Shadow Frontier now revealed as its next full release, the Cronos DLC gives existing fans something new to play while the studio moves toward its next major project.

Cronos: The New Dawn already established a grim world of survival, oppressive atmosphere, and dangerous enemy encounters. Lazarus now looks set to expand that identity by showing another side of the universe through the perspective of a more capable, more aggressive protagonist.

The decision to launch the DLC on all platforms, including Nintendo Switch 2, is also notable. It gives Cronos: Lazarus a wider reach and ensures that players across PC and console ecosystems can continue the story at the same time.

Cronos: Lazarus launches in Fall 2026 for all platforms.

Are you more excited for Cronos: Lazarus because of the new story chapter, or because of its faster and more aggressive combat direction?
