Blood Message Is a Stunning Single Player Action/Adventure Game from NARAKA: BLADEPOINT Developers

24 Entertainment, the acclaimed studio behind NARAKA: BLADEPOINT, and publisher NetEase Games have officially unveiled Blood Message, a deeply narrative-driven single-player action/adventure title powered by Unreal Engine 5. Marking a significant shift from the studio’s multiplayer roots, Blood Message aims to deliver a cinematic, emotional journey that highlights the sacrifices of ordinary heroes during one of China’s most turbulent historical periods.

A Journey Across a Fractured Empire

Set in the waning days of the Tang Dynasty, Blood Message invites players to experience the turmoil not through the eyes of generals or emperors, but from the ground level — through the perspective of a father and son, both messengers who become swept into the righteous uprising in Shazhou, Dunhuang. Their mission: a harrowing 1,000-mile journey back to the Tang capital, Chang’an, across hostile deserts, crumbling cities, and violent battlefronts.

Zhipeng Hu, NetEase Executive VP and Lead Producer of the game, commented:

“We are ushering players into a new generation of high adventure with Blood Message. As our first completely single-player focused experience from NetEase Games, after two decades of deep dedication to the gaming industry, we are prepared to deliver a truly epic and cinematic experience for players around the world.”

Gameplay That Prioritizes Realism and Emotion

The game’s linear structure is paired with visceral combat, survival mechanics, and stealth systems, all of which emphasize immersion over spectacle. Instead of leveling up emperors or wielding supernatural powers, players will navigate unforgiving terrain, massive siege events, and deeply personal dilemmas — driven by themes of family, honor, and cultural identity.

24 Entertainment emphasized their intent to depart from traditional hero tropes:

“The world has heard enough stories of kings and generals. It's time to tell the story of the ordinary – the unsung, the vulnerable, the ones who carry messages of hope through chaos.”

World-Building Rooted in History and Culture

With stunning environments inspired by real locations in East and Central Asia, including the desert landscapes of Dunhuang, Blood Message uses Unreal Engine 5’s fidelity to craft a world that is as breathtaking as it is brutal. The development team is also leveraging proprietary technologies to bring the game’s environments, weather effects, and historical accuracy to life with greater immersion.

While Blood Message currently has no confirmed release date, it is being developed for PC and consoles, promising a global launch aimed at story-driven action fans.
