Bethesda Teases New Starfield DLC in Two-Year Anniversary Post

Bethesda has marked the two-year anniversary of Starfield with a cryptic tease that strongly hints at the next major DLC expansion being revealed sooner rather than later. The official Starfield X account shared a celebratory post thanking players for exploring the Settled Systems and added, “We look forward to the adventures yet to come,” alongside a short anniversary video.

The video itself has become the center of speculation. Toward its end, a brief frame appears to show text that many fans believe reveals the title of the game’s next expansion. On Reddit, eagle-eyed viewers claim the title reads “Terran Armada.” If true, this would continue Bethesda’s trend of titling expansions around evocative themes of space exploration and conflict, following 2024’s Shattered Space.

The tease comes amid ongoing rumors that the next DLC would not arrive until 2026. However, this anniversary drop suggests Bethesda may be preparing to at least announce the expansion in 2025, even if its release date remains further out.

Adding fuel to the speculation, Tim Lamb, Bethesda’s lead creative producer, hinted in a recent developer spotlight video that the studio is actively developing new content for the game.

“We have some cool stuff coming,” Lamb said. “Including free updates and features the players have been asking for, as well as a new DLC story. I can't go into all the details just yet, but I will say part of the team has been focused on space gameplay to make the travels there more rewarding.”

This statement aligns with community requests for deeper and more engaging spaceflight mechanics, which many fans felt were underdeveloped at launch. If Terran Armada does focus on large-scale space gameplay, it could address one of the most common criticisms while expanding the narrative scope of the Settled Systems.

With Shattered Space having established a precedent for large, story-driven expansions, expectations are high for what Bethesda delivers next. Whether Terran Armada proves to be real or not, the studio clearly intends to keep Starfield alive as a long-term franchise centerpiece, much like The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim and Fallout 4 before it.

Do you think Bethesda should focus on deeper space combat and exploration for the next Starfield DLC, or should the expansion prioritize story-driven content instead?
