Bandai Namco Teases a New RPG Reveal on March 5, Tales Fans Think a 30th Anniversary Announcement Is Incoming
Bandai Namco has posted a short but very deliberate teaser signaling a new RPG reveal scheduled for March 5, 2026, and the timing is already putting the Tales community into full speculation mode. The publisher shared the tease on X, confirming the announcement will happen at 3:00 PM PT, 6:00 PM ET, and 11:00 PM BT.
The teaser itself is intentionally minimal, but the visual language feels targeted. The clip includes a T for Teen ESRB rating card, then cuts to a forest scene with a tower in the distance that stretches upward into the sky. A character follows, walking forward with a sword and shield on their back, before the video ends on a gold title card that simply reads New RPG reveal, along with the March 5 date and the reveal time.
A serenity soon to be disturbed.

While Bandai Namco does not provide any clear franchise identifiers in the video, players are already treating this as a likely Tales announcement. The character model silhouette and animation style are what many fans associate with modern Tales presentation, and the reveal window lines up cleanly with the franchise’s ongoing 30th anniversary celebration, which the series officially reached in December 2025. If Bandai Namco wants to maximize narrative impact and community engagement, a surprise new mainline entry during an anniversary stretch would be a high leverage play.
Speculation is also being fueled by the fact that Tales has recently been in active motion with remasters, including the remaster of Tales of Berseria that arrived last week. Bandai Namco has clearly been investing in bringing older entries forward, but the wording of this tease matters. This announcement is framed as something new, which makes it harder to read as just another remaster reveal and more likely to be either a brand new Tales title or an entirely new RPG IP.
If it does turn out to be Tales, then this would likely represent the first brand new entry since Tales of Arise launched in 2021, which would instantly elevate the importance of Thursday’s reveal beyond a typical teaser cycle. On the other hand, Bandai Namco could be playing a broader RPG strategy here and watching the internet auto assign a Tales label to something that is actually unrelated. That scenario would not be unusual, especially when a publisher leans into fantasy visual shorthand that overlaps with an existing franchise aesthetic.
Either way, Bandai Namco has successfully achieved the first objective of a strong teaser campaign: high signal curiosity with minimal information. March 5 is the moment where speculation turns into measurable reality.
Do you want this to be a full new Tales entry, or would you rather see Bandai Namco surprise everyone with a brand new RPG universe built from scratch?
