AMD Expands Ryzen PRO 9000 Line With 6 New Workstation Chips Led by the Ryzen 9 PRO 9965X3D
AMD has officially expanded its Ryzen PRO 9000 workstation lineup with 6 new desktop workstation processors, headlined by the Ryzen 9 PRO 9965X3D and Ryzen 7 PRO 9755X3D. The move is notable not only because it confirms the long rumored Ryzen 9 PRO 9965X3D, but also because it marks the first time AMD 3D V Cache arrives in the commercial desktop segment under the Ryzen PRO brand. AMD says the new additions are designed for demanding professional workflows such as simulation, high resolution content creation, AI driven analysis, and data heavy visualization.
At the top of the stack sits the Ryzen 9 PRO 9965X3D, a 16 core and 32 thread Zen 5 processor with boost clocks up to 5.5 GHz, a 4.3 GHz base clock, 128 MB of L3 cache, and a 170W TDP. AMD’s official specifications also show integrated Radeon graphics with 2 graphics cores, ECC support with supported motherboards, PCIe 5.0 support, and up to 256 GB of DDR5 memory. This makes it the most aggressive new PRO part in the launch and one of the clearest signs yet that AMD wants to bring X3D cache advantages into commercial workstation territory rather than keeping them limited to consumer gaming and creator parts.
AMD is also introducing the Ryzen 7 PRO 9755X3D, which gives the commercial lineup a second X3D option at a lower tier. This chip comes with 8 cores and 16 threads, boost clocks up to 5.2 GHz, a 4.7 GHz base clock, 96 MB of L3 cache, and a 120W TDP. Like the 9965X3D, it carries AMD PRO technologies and the same broad AM5 platform feature set, but its more compact core count should make it a strong fit for businesses and workstation buyers that want extra cache performance without moving all the way to a 16 core flagship.
Alongside those 2 X3D chips, AMD has also added 4 standard Ryzen PRO 9000 processors. The lineup now includes the Ryzen 9 PRO 9965, Ryzen 9 PRO 9955, Ryzen 7 PRO 9755, and Ryzen 5 PRO 9655, spanning 6 to 16 cores and power envelopes from 120W to 170W. AMD’s workstation specifications page and product listings show the Ryzen 9 PRO 9965 at 16 cores, 32 threads, up to 5.5 GHz, 64 MB of L3 cache, and 170W, while the Ryzen 7 PRO 9755 comes in at 8 cores, 16 threads, up to 5.4 GHz, 32 MB of L3 cache, and 120W, and the Ryzen 5 PRO 9655 lands at 6 cores, 12 threads, up to 5.4 GHz, 32 MB of L3 cache, and 120W.
The broader strategic message from AMD is just as important as the SKU list itself. In its official announcement, the company says the expanded Ryzen PRO 9000 family is meant to give workstation builders a scalable AM5 desktop foundation that can stretch from compact professional systems to full tower workstations. AMD is also clearly leaning into cache, core count, and platform flexibility as differentiators for professional buyers who need strong local compute without jumping to Threadripper class systems.
One detail worth keeping in mind is availability. While AMD has formally announced the chips and published them on its official product pages, the company says the newest members of the Ryzen PRO 9000 lineup will be available in the second half of 2026. So this is a confirmed product expansion, but not an immediate broad channel rollout today.
