ASUS Unveils New ROG OLED Gaming Monitors Featuring 540Hz “PG27AQWP-W” With Tandem TrueBlack Tech

ASUS has introduced a new lineup of ROG OLED gaming monitors, headlined by the ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W, which delivers an astonishing 540Hz refresh rate and features the brand’s cutting-edge Tandem TrueBlack technology. The announcement, detailed on ROG’s official site, confirms ASUS’s full commitment to OLED innovation at Gamescom 2025.

A total of three new monitors were revealed:

  • ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W (Tandem WOLED, 540Hz)

  • ROG Strix OLED XG27AQWMG (Tandem WOLED, 280Hz)

  • ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG Gen 2 (Standard WOLED, 240Hz)

Tandem TrueBlack WOLED: Brighter, Sharper, More Durable

The two flagship models, PG27AQWP-W and XG27AQWMG, adopt Tandem WOLED technology, a dual-layer design that improves brightness, color performance, and panel longevity. Compared to previous-generation WOLEDs, Tandem OLED delivers:

  • 15% higher peak brightness

  • 25% wider color volume

  • 60% longer lifespan

  • Lower power consumption

Both monitors use TrueBlack Glossy Film, reducing reflections by up to 38% while maintaining deep blacks and crisp text clarity in bright environments.

ROG Swift OLED PG27AQWP-W: 540Hz Gaming Redefined

The PG27AQWP-W pushes competitive gaming to the extreme with 1440p at 540Hz or 720p at 720Hz, alongside DisplayPort 2.1a UHBR20 support (up to 80 Gbps) for uncompressed high-speed visuals. It also comes with VESA DisplayHDR 500 True Black certification, 99.5% DCI-P3 color coverage, and a Neo Proximity Sensor as part of ASUS’s OLED Care Pro system to reduce burn-in risk.

ROG Strix OLED XG27AQWMG: High-Speed QHD at 280Hz

This model offers QHD resolution at 280Hz, with true 10-bit color, 99.5% DCI-P3 gamut, and a reduced chassis size (30% smaller than previous XG27 models), making it desk-friendly while still delivering premium performance.

ROG Strix OLED XG27AQDMG Gen 2: Streamlined WOLED for Gamers

ASUS is also introducing the XG27AQDMG Gen 2, a more accessible option featuring a 27” QHD WOLED panel, 240Hz refresh rate, 0.03ms response time, 99% DCI-P3 gamut, and OLED Care Pro. The design is also reduced in size by 30%, providing a compact yet powerful OLED solution. Full details can be found in ASUS’s Gamescom 2025 product announcement.

Would you choose a blazing-fast 540Hz OLED like the PG27AQWP-W, or a more balanced 280Hz/240Hz OLED for everyday gaming?
