ASUS Officially Reveals ATS RX 9070 GRE OC: China-Exclusive Radeon RDNA 4 GPU

ASUS has officially listed its new ATS RX 9070 GRE O12G graphics card on its Chinese product page, marking the imminent launch of AMD's first RDNA 4-based GPU for the Chinese market—the Radeon RX 9070 GRE. Scheduled to debut on May 8, this Golden Rabbit Edition (GRE) is expected to bridge the performance gap between the RX 9060 XT and RX 9070, delivering a more affordable yet capable option for gamers.

This Chinese-exclusive GPU series has precedent, with AMD previously launching models like the RX 6750 GRE, RX 7600 GRE, and RX 7900 GRE, most of which remained regionally locked, save for the RX 7900 GRE's limited global availability. The RX 9070 GRE may follow the same path unless AMD decides otherwise.

Specs and Architecture

The ASUS ATS RX 9070 GRE O12G will utilize a cut-down NAVI 48 die and ship with:

  • 3072 Stream Processors

  • 12GB of GDDR6 memory

  • 220W TBP (Total Board Power)

  • Boost Clock up to 2880 MHz (OC Mode)

  • Dual 8-pin PCI-E power connectors

  • 750W PSU recommended

Compared to the RX 9070 XT, which features up to 16GB of VRAM, the RX 9070 GRE's 12GB configuration positions it as a more budget-conscious solution without compromising memory demands for most modern titles.

Price and Availability

This particular ASUS model will carry a retail price of 4,499 RMB, with a pre-order discount dropping it to 4,476 RMB. After deducting the 20% VAT, this translates to approximately 3,359 RMB or US$450, a full $100 cheaper than the RX 9070’s official MSRP. For a card that beats the RX 9060 XT (8GB) in memory and likely in compute power, the RX 9070 GRE is shaping up to be an appealing alternative for performance-focused gamers on a tighter budget—at least in China.

While detailed benchmarks and global availability remain to be seen, ASUS's move and the card's pricing indicate a strategic push to dominate the mid-to-high-end GPU segment in one of AMD’s largest markets.
