ASUS Launches PRO WS Platinum PSU Series with ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 Support

ASUS has officially unveiled its PRO WS Platinum series, a new lineup of premium high-performance power supplies designed for professional and workstation-grade systems. Announced through the company’s official press release, the series focuses on delivering extreme efficiency, reliability, and next-generation compatibility for power-hungry GPUs and AI workloads.

The PRO WS Platinum PSUs are available in 1600W, 2200W, and 3000W models, each fully ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 compliant, ensuring support for the latest graphics cards such as the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090, RTX 5080, and RTX PRO 6000. ASUS says the series has been engineered to meet the needs of creators, engineers, and AI professionals seeking “peak performance” under sustained heavy loads.

Each model features gold-plated copper pins within high-quality etched cables, improving conductivity and reducing resistance. Both the EPS and 12V-2x6 connectors are color-coded for ease of installation and precise connectivity with the motherboard and GPUs.

Since all units are fully modular, users can connect only the cables they need, resulting in cleaner cable management and improved airflow. The 3000W model can reportedly power up to four RTX 5090 or RTX PRO 6000 Blackwell GPUs, while the 2200W model can handle up to four RTX 5080 GPUs, making them ideal for AI workstations and multi-GPU setups.

To ensure thermal stability, ASUS has incorporated extruded aluminum heatsinks and a highly ventilated chassis, providing efficient heat dissipation for continuous, long-duration workloads.

ASUS also highlighted that its gold-plated high-performance copper pins in the 12V-2x6 connectors help reduce connector temperatures by up to 10°C compared to conventional designs. This contributes to both reliability and longevity under sustained high loads.

The entire series is 80 PLUS Platinum certified, achieving 94% efficiency under typical loads and maintaining over 90% efficiency at full output, ensuring stable and energy-efficient operation even at maximum power draw. Each PSU also comes with a 10-year warranty, underlining ASUS’s confidence in long-term durability.
