Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag Remake Seemingly Leaked as PEGI Lists “Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced”

One of the industry’s most persistent rumors for 2025 appears to have gained significant credibility this week. Following the recent high profile leak confirming Leon Kennedy’s appearance in Resident Evil Requiem, Ubisoft’s long speculated remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag has now surfaced through an unexpected and highly credible source: a PEGI age rating.

The discovery originates from X user and YouTuber CorkbenYT, who spotted a PEGI 18 classification for Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced listed on the official PEGI website. The rating is attributed to Ubisoft EMEA, lending strong legitimacy to the posting. The subtitle “Resynced” appears to be Ubisoft’s branding approach to signal a remake or remaster, potentially becoming the official title for the reimagined project.

While Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot stated in June 2024 that the company intends to develop remakes of classic Assassin’s Creed titles, Ubisoft has not formally confirmed any specific remake to date. However, a steady chain of insider reports and leaks dating back multiple years has consistently pointed to Black Flag being the first to receive a full scale revival.

Recent rumors have suggested a launch window as early as March 2026. Such a release timing would position the game just ahead of Ubisoft’s next fiscal year and would likely require an official announcement soon unless Ubisoft is planning an uncommon shadow drop strategy. The Game Awards later this week remain a viable reveal opportunity, though Ubisoft may alternatively schedule its next Ubisoft Forward showcase for early 2026, following its decision to skip the event entirely in 2025.

The momentum behind Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Resynced is now stronger than at any previous point. With this new PEGI rating, multiple years of speculation, and comments from Edward Kenway’s voice actor, the remake is essentially confirmed in everything but official marketing. All that remains is for Ubisoft to lift the curtain.

Do you think Ubisoft will reveal Black Flag Resynced at The Game Awards, or will they hold the announcement for a dedicated Ubisoft Forward showcase?
