ARC Raiders Reportedly Approaches 7 Million Copies

Despite ongoing controversy surrounding its use of generative AI for NPC voices, ARC Raiders continues to dominate the market. According to new data from Alinea Analytics, the third person extraction shooter from Embark Studios is closing in on an impressive 7 million copies sold across all platforms.

Alinea reports that ARC Raiders moved nearly 750,000 copies on Steam last week alone. Steam sales have now reached approximately 4 million units, aligning with publisher Nexon’s recent confirmation that the title has surpassed 4 million lifetime sales. When accounting for consoles and other storefronts, ARC Raiders is on track to hit the 7 million mark very soon.

This cements ARC Raiders as one of 2025’s most significant breakout hits, landing in Newzoo’s October 2025 rankings as one of the top 20 titles for both monthly active users and revenue generation. However, as with all multiplayer driven titles, Embark’s next challenge will be maintaining momentum through consistent updates, content cycles and community engagement.

Alinea Analytics’ report also highlights several other standout performers in the current market.

  • PEAK is nearing 15 million copies sold, securing its position as one of the year’s most successful indie releases.

  • RV There Yet? and AdHoc Studio’s Dispatch were among last week’s strongest Steam sellers, signaling continued dominance by indie developers in 2025.

ARC Raiders’ rapid adoption underlines both the popularity of the extraction shooter genre and the strength of Embark’s visually striking, systemic sandbox design. However, the debate around generative AI voice implementation continues to follow the title, creating an ongoing conversation about the future of game development pipelines.

Do you think ARC Raiders can sustain its player base long term, or will the extraction meta shift again? Share your thoughts below.
