AMD Confirms Ryzen AI 400 “Gorgon Point” CPUs in New Chipset Driver Ahead of CES 2026 Reveal

AMD’s next generation mobile CPU lineup has now been officially referenced in chipset software, confirming the long rumored Ryzen AI 400 “Gorgon Point” family. The confirmation surfaced in AMD’s unreleased chipset driver v7.10.02.711, spotted by X user BuildLabEx. AMD’s current public driver v7.06.02.123 does not yet list the new series, indicating that the upcoming update will align with laptop launches expected early next year.

The Ryzen AI 400 “Gorgon Point” lineup is positioned as a refresh to the existing Ryzen AI 300 “Strix Point” generation. While maintaining the same foundational architectures Zen 5 CPU cores, RDNA 3.5 graphics, and XDNA 2 NPUs the new series introduces stronger specifications across nearly every SKU. These refinements include higher clock speeds, increased core counts on select models, enhanced integrated graphics, and broader availability of NPU performance levels up to fifty five TOPS. This marks a notable uplift from Ryzen AI 300, where only the flagship Ryzen AI 9 HX 375 offered top tier NPU performance.

Recent leaks and early benchmarks have already highlighted the capabilities of SKUs such as the Ryzen AI 9 HX 470, showing meaningful generational improvements in multi threaded workloads, graphics throughput, and AI inference performance. With the growing importance of NPUs for on device AI acceleration, the uniform uplift across the stack signals AMD’s intent to strengthen its leadership positioning in the AI PC segment.

Industry expectations point to AMD officially unveiling the Ryzen AI 400 series at CES 2026, alongside new consumer CPU and APU families. The company is also anticipated to discuss next wave AI platform advancements and provide early teasers for its Zen 6 architecture, though major Zen 6 disclosures will be reserved for Computex 2026.

With Gorgon Point, AMD is preparing a more competitive and AI forward refresh that should power many high performance ultrathin and hybrid laptops in 2026.
