New Co Op Roguelite Raiders of Blackveil From Former IO Interactive Devs Enters Early Access This December

Wombo Games, a new Copenhagen based studio founded by IO Interactive co founder Janos Flösser along with several other former IO Interactive developers, is preparing to launch its debut title. The studio first announced itself earlier this year, revealing that its first project would be a cooperative roguelite titled Raiders of Blackveil. Now, Wombo Games has confirmed that the game will enter early access on PC on December 15, 2025.

In a press release, Benjamin Flösser, executive producer at Wombo Games, emphasized the importance of the early access launch. “Early access is a huge milestone for us as it is where we will really start shaping Raiders of Blackveil with our community of players. It has been a wild ride since we started working on this game, and we are extremely grateful for all the support, wishlists, and feedback since the first demo came out. The game would not be the same without it.”

Raiders of Blackveil is described as a MOBA inspired, PvE extraction focused co op roguelite featuring RPG style loot and systems. The game takes place in the dystopian fantasy world of Blackveil, where players team up to battle through dangerous biomes, gather resources, and engage in strategic combat encounters that evolve over multiple runs.

The early access version coming in December will include the Harvest Operation, one of the game’s initial biomes. This region features eleven new enemy types and two powerful bosses that were not present in the earlier public demo. Wombo Games has significantly updated the game’s perk system for early access, alongside new items, additional mechanics, and broader refinements designed to expand player choice and replayability.

Following the early access launch, the studio plans to continue developing the game in close collaboration with its community. Raiders of Blackveil’s full 1.0 release is currently slated for sometime in 2026, though Wombo Games notes that development pacing may shift depending on early access feedback and player engagement.

With a pedigree of developers who helped shape some of the industry’s most notable action and stealth titles, Raiders of Blackveil is shaping up to be a notable entry in the growing co op roguelite genre. Early access will give players a first look at how the team blends extraction style gameplay with MOBA inspired combat and procedural progression.
