New Mount and Blade II Bannerlord War Sails Trailer Highlights Intense Naval Battles Ahead of Expansion Launch Next Week

TaleWorlds Entertainment has released a substantial new gameplay trailer for War Sails, the largest expansion to date for Mount and Blade II Bannerlord, showcasing the dramatic naval warfare arriving next week. War Sails, which introduces full scale ship combat to the franchise for the first time, is scheduled to launch on November 26, 2025, and the latest trailer provides a detailed look at the kinds of maritime encounters players can expect.

The eight and a half minute showcase features a nighttime river engagement between the newly introduced Nord faction and the Khuzaits, highlighting coordinated boarding actions, ranged volleys, ship collisions, and large scale tactical maneuvers at sea.

This expansion represents a major evolution of Bannerlord’s signature sandbox, which has traditionally focused on land based battles and faction driven warfare across Calradia. With War Sails, the developers extend the battlefield into rivers, coasts, and open sea routes, adding a completely new strategic layer to the player experience. The expansion will launch simultaneously across all platforms for 24 dollars and 99 cents.

Alongside the paid expansion, TaleWorlds will release a free update for all Bannerlord players on the same day. This update includes substantial improvements to mission atmosphere, enhanced spear bracing mechanics, refined melee, ranged, and cavalry combat systems, broader modding capabilities, and various fixes and balance adjustments designed to strengthen the core experience regardless of expansion ownership.

Players who purchase War Sails will gain access to a full naval campaign and a fleet building system featuring twenty distinct vessels. These include fifteen dedicated warships, four trade oriented ships, and one civilian fishing vessel, all modeled after historical medieval examples. War Sails expands Calradia to accommodate maritime routes and challenges, and players will be forced to contend with environmental hazards such as storms, wind conditions, and treacherous waters while clashing with rival fleets.

Mount and Blade II Bannerlord has long been praised for its cinematic and large scale land battles, and the introduction of naval warfare stands as the next logical step in the game’s evolution, adding new tactical depth and an entirely fresh dimension of immersion. With the expansion arriving next week, the community will soon see how War Sails reshapes the Bannerlord experience.
